They wanted it, they should have it. The UFC has listened to its stars, and exceptionally so, will increase the bonuses for the performance of the night. And it’s noticeable. So Jiri Prochazka and the other fighters who will appear at the UFC 300 anniversary event have plenty of incentive to go for the finish.

A historic event is upon us, we can look forward to the biggest event in years. After all, that’s what the UFC 300 schedule looks like. We’ll see twelve former or reigning champions in action, with big aces coming into play.

Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill will appear in the main event, fans are eagerly awaiting the battle between bonus collector Justin Gaethje and the popular Max Holloway, but Czechoslovak fans are most interested in Jiri Prochazka, who will be challenged by Aleksandar Rakic.

It was Gaethje, who has collected 12 bonuses in 12 fights in the UFC, who in an interview before the tournament expressed his desire for the organization to increase the bonuses from the current $50,000 to $300,000. “It has to be at least 100 thousand,” the American puncher sighed.

Holloway had the same wish: “It’s UFC 300, it’s huge. It would want 500k, but it could be 400k, 300k, or at least 150k as the lowest possible amount.”

But the final decision was in the hands of the UFC, and therefore boss Dana White. They decided to accommodate their stars.

Prochazka and co. have no shortage of motivation

As already mentioned, the UFC normally awards bonuses for the performance of the night worth $50,000, or just under 1.18 million crowns. Jiri Prochazka himself has now come up with four bonuses so far, some for the fight of the night, others for the performance of the night.

Now he has even more motivation to perform against Aleksandar Rakic. After an intense staredown where he looked really hungry, he can ask for a much bigger sum in the match against his opponent.

In fact, the UFC will exceptionally increase the bonuses to $300,000, or 7.1 million crowns. When Dana White announced this at the press conference, the fighters understandably cheered. These are record bonuses, more has never been given out by the organization.

For example, at UFC 129, although the bonuses for the fight of the night amounted to $129,000, it is not very usual. So we have a lot to look forward to. If there was motivation for someone to show off at UFC 300 alone, what about now that there’s an extra $300k to bring home?
