The Premier League and La Liga have long been at loggerheads over which of these competitions is the best in the world. Traditionally, there has been a lot of transfer activity between these leagues, and this summer should be no different. Let’s take a look at the latest news regarding transfers along this route.

Thomas Partey to Barcelona?

The former Atlético Madrid midfielder moved to Arsenal London four years ago, from where he could now return to Spain. This time, FC Barcelona have shown interest in the 30-year-old Ghanaian midfielder.

It could be a bargain for both teams, Arsenal could use the sale to increase their transfer budget, while Barcelona need a cheap and experienced alternative for the position. The player has a contract with Arsenal until next summer, the current price is around 20 million euros.

Will Mamardashvili leave Valencia?

Manchester United will probably be looking for a new keeper of the shrine this year as well. Last year he came from Inter Milan with the label of saviour Andre Onan, but he did not convince with his performances. That is why the Red Devils are considering buying another goalkeeper.

This is to be Georgian international Giorgi Mamardashvili. He will be able to convince the Manchester management at the upcoming European championship, where he will play against the Czech national team.

Mamardashvili currently plays for Valencia, who are still striving for a position guaranteeing the European Cup. However, the 23-year-old goalkeeper might not participate in them anymore.

Pedri’s departure could paradoxically help Barcelona

Spanish megatalent Pedri is twirling his fourth season in a Blaugranas jersey this year and has impressed clubs in the British Isles with his performances. Liverpool and Arsenal are also in the running for his services. The midfielder, who has skyrocketed in senior football and is often hampered by injuries, is currently worth around 80 million euros.

This amount would greatly help Barcelona, which needs to raise funds for new signings. But will it want to get rid of its offspring and one of its main stars?

Bernardo for Gündogan?

Instead of Pedri, Bernardo Silva could also strengthen Barcelona’s midfield along with Partey. His experience and creativity would be very useful for the Catalan club. Silva could meet his former Manchester City teammate Ilkay Gündogan.

The 29-year-old Portuguese has let it be known that he would love to leave Manchester City and play at his dream club. That is FC Barcelona. The latter has put him on its priority list, but Silva is under contract in England until 2026 and the question hangs over his price tag.
