Well, this is really surprising. Makhmud Muradov informed fans that he had signed a new contract with the UFC, but during the course of the evening, word leaked out that the organization had terminated his contract. The fighter has spoken out, is his return to the Octagon possible?

In September 2019, Makhmud Muradov made his UFC debut. He is very well known to Czech fans due to the fact that he was in the Octagon and lived in the Czech Republic. He knows the language and carried the Czech flag into the cage for a long time.

He won his first three fights in the organization, then went away defeated twice and then celebrated a win again. His last match ended in a No Contest when his opponent badly poked him in the eye after 11 seconds.

But he won’t be adding another fight to the organization, at least not anytime soon. In fact, the UFC has decided to terminate Muradov’s contract, despite the fact that he recently signed a new one.

Muradov’s statement

“Hello everyone, I just landed in Istanbul and like you I just got the news that as of today I am no longer a UFC fighter. I wrote to my manager because I don’t know why.

Just a message came saying thank you for everything, blah blah blah, but they didn’t write the reason. Never mind, life goes on. I didn’t want to end up there like that and so soon, but fate is fate. I’m not disappointed, but I guess I’m a little sad. I won’t say I’m not. But it’s sport and life goes on.

We’ll see what comes next. I’ve already got some offers. They just terminated the contract. I don’t know why. I just wanted to let you know, but I’m definitely not quitting. I’m moving on and I wanted to thank you all,” he told the fans.

Return to the Octagon?

Naturally, there is a question about a return to the Octagon. Muradov knows the management very well, has a good relationship with them and could also return to the market where he is considered a home fighter.
