It’s confirmed! Conor McGregor will soon return to the cage. Although he recently announced it himself, his statements cannot always be trusted 100%. But now his words have been confirmed by his opponent Michael Chandler.

The UFC has an interesting part of the year ahead of it. Currently, there are still three unnumbered tournaments to come and then comes the biggest gala in recent times – UFC 300.

Apart from that, however, one more big event is expected. The return of a star Irishman was still being discussed, however, it was unclear when and if it would ever happen. A good part of the public began to believe that we would never see him in the cage again.

However, the opposite was to be true. In fact, a few days ago Conor McGregor himself announced that we will see him in the UFC cage again in the summer. Despite his various statements and all sorts of speculation, his opponent remains Michael Chandler.

However, McGregor has already announced the fight once, including the weight and date, but there was never any confirmation. Therefore, the question was how much his words could be trusted now. However, they have been confirmed by his opponent, so we have a lot to look forward to.

The McGregor vs Chandler fight will take place in the summer

The original date previously announced by Conor McGregor was June 29, when the UFC 303 gala in Las Vegas would take place. It’s not official, however it seems like there might be a grain of truth to it.

“Our fight will take place in the summer. I can’t say the actual date, but our fight will take place in the summer. Obviously, everything has been in the works for a year. We were on The Ultimate Fighter, then Conor was filming Road House and then we’re finally going to fight in the summer,” Michael Chander told TMZ Sports.

Conor McGregor last fought in July 2021. “He’s starting to train, I’m starting to train. It’s going to be fun this summer,” the American fighter, who for a change last fought in November 2022, was quoted as saying.

Like McGregor, Chandler lost his last fight to Dustin Poirier.
