Kylian Mbappé will most likely leave PSG for free in the summer and the French outfit is starting to prepare for a new era. It will struggle to find players of similar calibre, so it is looking to the future and considering a transfer bomb.

The start of this season in Paris has looked anything but rosy. There was no telling what would happen to Kylian Mbappé. He was even left out of the team for a while. In addition, at the beginning, PSG was not doing well not only in terms of play but also in terms of results.

Eventually, the Frenchman was called back to the team, quickly became the main driving force, scoring goals. He helped the team to dominate the French league quite playfully. But his contract expires in the summer and by all accounts he has decided not to renew it.

Coach Luis Enrique has so far refused to talk about the situation, however Mbappé was already expected to agree a deal with Real Madrid. PSG thus does not leave their star on the pitch for the full 90 minutes in some matches. The reason? According to the coach, his charges have to learn to play without Kylian, which says a lot.

The question is how the Parisian team will replace their star player. There was a lot of talk that the club could invest the money saved on his wages in youth and undergo a transformation, but now an interesting speculation has seen the light of day.

Will PSG set off a transfer bomb?

At the moment, it will be very difficult for PSG to find a player who can immediately replace Kylian Mbappé in quality, play and numbers. This is something that Paris are probably very aware of. That is also why they are looking towards the future.

But even such a solution will not be possible without large investments. Especially if you want to hunt for another big club. The French champion is reportedly eyeing a new acquisition in Barcelona. Again. The management has taken a liking to Lamine Yamal, a 16-year-old starlet who is having a dream debut season among the adults.

Already, Yamal is a difference maker for Barcelona. He has played 37 competitive games this season with a record of 6 goals and 7 assists. Therefore, it won’t surprise anyone that PSG would have to pay a hefty sum for him. But that’s obviously what they are counting on in France.

According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, PSG has set aside 200 million euros for this possible transfer. Barcelona, however, are not in favour of a sale, despite the financial crisis. A transfer therefore does not seem very likely. At least for now.
