In Wednesday’s match, Vitor Roque, still only 18 years old, scored his first goal in the Spanish top flight. Moreover, it was the winning goal in just one minute on the pitch.

Will Vitor Roque leave a similar mark to his illustrious predecessors?

Several Brazilian footballers have already rocked the Barcelona jersey, with the aforementioned ones leaving an indelible mark on the club. Ronaldo spent just one season at the club (1996/97). But he scored an impressive 34 goals in 37 rounds in La Liga, completely winning the hearts of not only the fans, but the entire league.

It was not enough to win the title. But he was the top scorer and won the famous Ballon d’Or for the best footballer in European competitions. A season later, after Ronaldo’s departure, Rivaldo stepped in. He stayed at the club for five seasons and left a mark of 157 games played and 86 goals scored in the top Spanish competition.

Unlike his predecessor, he led the Barcelona team to two titles and also celebrated the Ballon d’Or in his jersey, specifically in 1999.

After Rivaldo’s departure, Barcelona found a new acquisition in a player named Ronaldinho. He had also been at Camp Nou for 5 seasons and was practically a mentor to Lionel Messi before his departure.

Ronaldinho probably left the biggest mark on the club. He also led the team to many trophies. Two titles and winning the Champions League, among others. And he has done what his predecessors did. A Brazilian in a Barcelona jersey equals winning the Ballon d’Or. Ronaldinho triumphed in 2005.

The last Brazilian to leave a significant mark on the club is Neymar. He has played for Barca since the 2013/14 season. And he stayed for four years. He played 123 games in La Liga, scoring 68 goals. However, over time, his dissatisfaction with the fact that the main star of the team is not him, but Messi.

Nevertheless, he contributed to winning several trophies with his great performances. However, he never won the Ballon d’Or, which at that time was reserved for Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi.

Another Brazilian on the scene

In the current season, another Brazilian – Vitor Roque – is starting to run around the pitch. The young talented striker is even being compared to the famous Ronaldo in his native Brazil.

It should be noted, Neymar was also said to be the new Pelé and he never quite lived up to that assumption. Anyway, coach Xavi, who is not going through a great time with Barcelona, has another offensive weapon at his disposal.

However, the fact that he is a very high quality player is only proven by the fact that he managed to get a peek at the Brazilian national team at his age. Before leaving for Barcelona, he managed to leave his calling card in Brazil with 60 games and 21 goals for the club Paranaense.

After his performance yesterday, we can expect coach Xavi to give him more minutes on the pitch as time goes on. But whether this is another Brazilian who will dazzle the whole of La Liga is very hard to predict at the moment.
