Liverpool beat Tottneham 4:2 in the 36th round of the English Premier League. Spurs, on the other hand, continue to drown in result problems as they lost their 4th match in a row.

Right from the start, Liverpool went for 3 points. In the 18th minute, Cody Gakpo sent a very good centre into the penalty area, Mohamed Salah closed the back post and opened the score of the match with his header. The Egyptian scored for the first time in the Premier League since April 7.

In addition, Andy Robertson increased the Reds’ lead just before the end of the 1st half. The Scottish central defender was first to a deflected shot and promptly headed the ball into the net past a helpless Guglielmo Vicario.

Any thoughts of a Csaplar trap by Tottenham were dispelled in the 51st minute by Gakpo. The Dutchman pounced on a fierce centre from Harvey Elliott and headed accurately to the left post of Vicario’s goal.

Just a few minutes later, Elliott presented himself with a fantastic shot from mid-range. The ball nestled just inside the top left corner and the English Premier League has another contender for the best goal of the year.

The visitors’ hopes were given hope in the 72nd minute by substitute Richarlison, who fired past, his compatriot, Allison, from the edge of the small area. The Brazilian was superbly set up in a shooting position by the centering Brennan Johnson.

Just 5 minutes later, Spurs’ 2nd goal was added by Heung-Min Son, who was unselfishly played into an open position by Richarlison, the scorer of the previous goal. The Korean added his 17th goal in this season’s Premier League.

Liverpool secured promotion to the Champions League with a convincing 4:2 win, but it will be hard to reach the Champions League title this season.
