The first semi-final match of the Champions League is over and it was Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid. Although both teams were leading at some stage of the match, in the end the match did not know the winner and the rematch in the Spanish capital will decide who advances.

The first minute and the first big chance! Leroy Sané ran on the offensive and broke through to a penalty corner, but he was well met by Andriy Lunin, who managed to keep out his shot. The Ukrainian goalkeeper continued to be imperious, covering Harry Kane’s shot in the sixth minute.

Bayern pressed, had a couple of chances, but in the end it was the visitors who enjoyed the opening goal. Toni Kroos sent a pinpoint pass to the escaping Vinícius, who didn’t fumble in front of the goalkeeper himself and sent the ball over his back.

Bayern’s pressure eased at that point and Real slowly started to play more. In the rest of the first half, only Kane had a better chance for the home side, but his direct kick just missed the left post.

Shortly afterwards, Jude Bellingham escaped the Bayern defence and Noussair Mazraoui promptly sent him to the ground. The incident happened just outside the big whitewash and the Moroccan deservedly received a yellow card for the tackle. The half ended 0:1.

51. one minute and a huge chance for Real Madrid. Vinícius passed the ball to Bellingham, Kroos ran onto it and a technical shot was headed into the net, but Manuel Neuer intervened well before it.

Shortly afterwards, the home side struck back and this time the fans could rejoice. Sané ran in from the side, put the ball to his left and with a shot to the front post gave Lunin no chance to be on the spot in time.

Real had a scary moment, Lucas Vazquez gave the opposition a penalty shortly after the goal and Kane sent Bayern into the lead. The Allianz Arena erupted in joy once again.

It could have been even better for Bayern, but in the 67th minute Eric Dier’s header ended up in the arms of Lunin. 12 minutes later, Neuer brilliantly saved a chance from Vinícius, but the Brazilian was awarded a penalty kick after a foul by Kim Min-Jae to level the match.

The match didn’t offer any more chances and Real, who will be the favourites in the rematch, can be more satisfied. But the match showed that anyone can advance.
