Trpišovský after Feyenoord: We made mistakes that the opponent punished. The boys played hard up to the last minute and gave it their all

The semi-finals of the European Conference League were not far away. Slavia were the better team in the first half, but in the second half they scored twice due to individual mistakes and said goodbye to Europe.
In the second minute, Ales Mandous was fishing the ball out of the net after a mistake by the stoppers, when Dessers himself rushed at him. Traoré then had no problem getting around the goalkeeper after a mistake by the visitors’ defence to equalise after a quarter of an hour of play.
But the second half was not as successful, with Mandous making a mistake in the 59th minute and Dessers sending his team into the lead. Sinisterra adjusted the score to 3-1 at the end.
“I have to thank the people, the atmosphere was unreal. We are even more sorry for the final result. We played against a great opponent, great football. We played a great first half, but unfortunately in the second half we couldn’t combine to keep up with our opponents.
We made mistakes that the opponent punished, and even though the boys played hard until the last minute and gave everything, we failed to punish the glitches in front of the goal,” said coach Jindřich Trpišovský at the press conference.
Slavia have nothing to be ashamed of, they sailed through the European Conference League after excellent performances and once again reached the precious quarter-finals, although the gate of the semi-finals has now closed as well.
“At the moment, the only thing that prevails is disappointment with the opportunity we had. The quarter-finals took a lot of effort, we had to go through a lot of good opponents. We played a very good game at Feyenoord, now a great first half, but it still wasn’t enough.
We are disappointed at the moment, but I am very proud of the club and the people in it, for the third quarter-final in four years. It’s always hard to get through, it’s hard to convert the chances you have, not to make mistakes,” he added.
