Cristiano Ronaldo was honoured on Monday for breaking the record for most goals scored by a national team player. On this occasion, he spoke about his future and revealed how much longer he would like to play at the highest level.

The Best FIFA Football Award gala was held on Monday evening, where Robert Lewandowski was voted the best player of the past year. But Cristiano Ronaldo also won his award.

The Portuguese received a special award in Zurich for breaking the world record for the number of national team goals. In September, he surpassed Ali Deaei, who scored 109 goals for Iran. Ronaldo has now scored 115 goals in a Portuguese jersey.

After receiving the award, Ronaldo revealed that he still has the passion in him not only to score goal after goal but also to play football itself.

“I have been playing football since I was five or six years old. When I go on the pitch, even in training, I still enjoy it. I still have a huge motivation. I’m still working hard, I’ve been working on myself since I was 18. I love football and I want to continue,” the Manchester United striker said at the ceremony.

Ronaldo will celebrate his 37th birthday at the beginning of February. However, according to his words, he still feels very well. However, he has to face questions about how much longer he will play.

“I hope to play for at least four or five more years. It’s all about the psyche. I think if you treat your body well, physically it will come back to you. That’s whatI go by,” the Portuguese revealed.

Ronaldo has featured in 22 competitive games since his return to Old Trafford, netting 14 goals. So he can be happy with his numbers. However, it is different with Manchester United’s position in the table. The Red Devils are now seventh in the Premier League and 24 points behind the leaders.
