Vladimír Coufal finally gets an upgrade to his current contract!
In the recent past, reports surfaced on social media that the Kladivari presented Vladimir Coufal with an “improved” contract, but the Czech defender’s representatives refused to sign it.
In the recent past, reports surfaced on social media that the Kladivari presented Vladimir Coufal with an “improved” contract, but the Czech defender’s representatives refused to sign it. Apparently, it was supposed to be a ridiculous upgrade of the existing contract. But surprisingly, this information may not have been true at all. An informant close to the club has shed some light on the case.
The soon to be 29-year-old former Slavic player has signed a contract at West Ham until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Probably that’s why he signed a contract that is financially quite “low”. According to the available information, the Czech international takes something around £30,000 a week, which is really one of the below-average salaries at the club, the highest paid player at West Ham is Ukrainian Andriy Yarmolenko, he earns £115,000 a week. And he makes only sporadic appearances in the starting line-up.
But Coufal has literally settled into the starting line-up and he has also been putting in steady and quality performances for a long time. Manager David Moyes cannot praise his contribution and so the question of a contract upgrade logically arose.
After the media reports about the “unhappy” Coufal and the refusal of a ridiculous contract, a source close to the club shed light on the whole case. Moreover, he suggested that Sky’s information may have been false.
West Ham have now actually presented Coufal with an improved contract, even though in theory they didn’t have to. Vladimir Coufal is insured until the aforementioned 2023, but the club is keen to reward the full-back for his top performances.
So Hammers fans don’t have to worry about their darling Vlad going anywhere.
