Manchester United will be selling in the summer! Who all can leave?

Erik ten Hag has been in charge of Manchester United for a year and a half. And in that time the squad has undergone a big transformation. The changes in the squad are expected to continue in the summer, when up to 11 players could leave. The Red Devils are on thin ice regarding financial fair play, which is why they have to sell.

Defense

Injuries in the defence have troubled the Dutch coach the most, especially this season. In particular, there is a lot of discussion about not extending the contract of Raphael Varane, who is very often injured. Another player on the way out would be Swedish stopper Viktor Lindelof, who is second only to veteran Johnny Evans during the current season.

However, it is Evans who is out of contract after the season. And it is unclear if the club will offer him a new one. Of course, the age of the experienced stopper plays the biggest role. However, United are probably planning to sell Harry Maguire as well, who has improved his performances. But he is still not at the level of a world class club, especially in the midfield the Englishman has big gaps. However, that Hag would get rid of 4 players at once is unlikely.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Brandon Williams will probably leave Old Trafford in the summer. The former has a great defensive work, unfortunately, towards the front his game is lagging behind, which is not to the Hag’s liking. The latter has not been given any space under the Dutch coach and will leave as a free agent when his contract expires.

Midfield

There has been a lot of talk about Casemiro’s departure in recent days. Especially the game against Luton suggested that the Brazilian is not keeping up with the pace of the Premier League. His big salary makes him an adept candidate for a summer exit as well. Another player expected to leave is Sofyan Amrabat, who is only in Manchester on loan from Fiorentina.

The summer transfer window will be a deliverance for the eternal bench player, namely Donny van de Beek. The Dutchman has already spent this season on loan at Frankfurt, where he is expected to head permanently after the season. He certainly won’t remember his Manchester engagement fondly, as he played a minimum of games.

Christian Eriksen and quite possibly Scott McTominay will be looking for a new deal. The former is getting less and less used and most importantly his contract expires next year. The problem with the Scottish midfielder is mainly in the midfield, which is not good at all. Even so, he is a very valid player for Haga and we must therefore take this speculation with a pinch of salt.

Attack

A long-discussed name in the red of Manchester was and still is Jadon Sancho. The Englishman is on loan at Dortmund, who should also have a possible option for a permanent transfer. In Germany, the English winger impressed with a single assist in his first game and it is not at all certain that Borussia will show interest in a permanent transfer.

Anthony Martial will leave United in the summer if the club does not extend his contract. The Frenchman has been frequently injured in recent years and has not impressed with his performance. The last player on the list is expected to be Facundo Pellistri. The Uruguayan winger has not been productive and will be available as a non-contract player after his loan spell at Granada ends.
