Excellent news on Friday morning delighted Oktagon fans. Losene Keita is part of Tipsport Gamechanger and will remain in the organization for at least one more year. Promoter Ondrej Novotny spoke about the interest of the competition and rejoiced that the promising Belgian chose Oktagon.
After the announcement of the second series of the Tipsport Gamechanger lightweight project, fans wondered why Losene Keita wasn’t in it. Meanwhile, the young Belgian is one of the organization’s best fighters.
The reason was simple. By participating in the project, the wrestler commits to the organization for a year and not only can’t wrestle elsewhere, but also in an organization outside of Gamechanger. This gave Keita time to think about it.
“You often ask about Keita. We’ll see… I know it will be decided this week. We’ll give a definite if Keita will be or not,” said Ondrej Novotny a few days ago on his podcast.
Now it’s finally clear. The organization has announced that Keita is a new member of the project, making him one of the favorites of the whole pyramid!
“Everybody wanted him, but only Oktagon fans will get him! We are growing together and we still have room to grow. Keita turned down offers from the other 4 big orgs. UFC, PFL, ONE and KSW and chose OKTAGON for his present and future,” Novotny wrote after the announcement at X.
Who will Keita fight?
The Tipsport Gamechanger project kicks off in March and we should soon see the announcement of the pairs that will compete against each other. This round is not randomized in any way and it is up to the organization to decide who to pit against each other.
There has been talk for some time about Keita fighting Ronald Paradeiser, who is the new lightweight champion. But the promoters will probably save that fight for later rounds.
