Preparing for Langer? I caught Chimaev’ crew in Dubai and never got over it. I’ve been there morning, afternoon and night

Karlos Vemola will fight Pavel Langer for the welterweight title at the beginning of October. He did part of his preparation in Dubai and Thailand, where he met Khamzat Chimaev. How did he enjoy it?
His defeat to Patrik Kincl threw him back down to earth, but Karlos Vémola didn’t hesitate and arranged a fight in Štvanici, where he beat Lucas Alsina on points. It was clear that his next fight would be a title fight.
At the beginning of October, Vémola will challenge Pavol Langer, who may not even have had the chance a year ago. But he has won this chance with his quality performances and is one step away from being the rightful champion.
Vémola can’t afford another defeat and he prepared for the fight for the first time in Dubai, where he also met Khamzat Khimaev. He was there with his children, so rest was not realistic.
“It was in Dubai, where I thought I would rest, that I caught Chimaev’s (Khamzat Chimaev, undefeated UFC fighter) crew, all the Dagestanis and wrestlers. They just saw me in the gym, so they said: Oktagon champ, come here. I never got out of it.
I was there morning, afternoon and evening. We trained several times a day. I’d go to water parks and roller coasters with the kids. Dubai really tired me out and I rested for two days in Thailand, where I was alone and could sleep,” Vémola told Sport.cz.
He then moved on to Thailand, where he met Chimaev again. This time he didn’t train with him, but he got a chance to spar with an Iranian coach who gave him a hard time.
“This time I made friends with an Iranian wrestling coach who pulled us into a party. He’s great. He’s got one fight, but I think it won’t be long before he’s champion.
He was making a fool out of me and Chimaev, throwing us in there as middleweights. He was 109 pounds, but he’s a multiple time world champion in wrestling or BJJ. He had incredible mileage and I think he’s a new rising star,” he added.
