Mauricio Pochettino is already the Chelsea coach and arrived at the club’s facilities on Monday. He also attended his first media duties and answered questions. He talked about his ambitions and his perception of the club.

New owner Todd Boehly is not popular at Stamford Bridge so far. He has invested a lot in the club, but Chelsea is facing rather ridicule from rival fans as even big investments in player purchases have not brought success. On the contrary.

Moreover, two coaches have already been dismissed and now Mauricio Pochettino is taking over the team. The former Tottenham or PSG coach has signed for the London club until the summer of 2025. He will have a tough job ahead of him and will be under a lot of pressure.

However, the Argentine strategist himself is, in his own words, honoured and delighted to be working at Stamford Bridge. “I know Chelsea very well, it’s one of the best clubs in the world, so it was an easy decision for me to move here,” he admitted to the club’s website.

The target is clear. Pochettino wants Blues fans to enjoy football again, and to build on Chelsea’s history of winning. What matters to him, however, is the manner in which the wins will come. At best, that is, through attractive football.

“For the last 10, 12, 15 years Chelsea have been the best team in England. I know the Premier League well and what the Chelsea culture means. We have to work hard, create a good atmosphere. Of course there are always ups and downs, but at Chelsea it is impossible to have such downs,” Pochettino added.

The new Blues coach wants to rely on the unity of not only the players but the whole club, including the fans. He wants the fans to feel that everyone in the squad will be willing to die for the club and make them proud.

“We want to win and be competitive. But first we have to start working on the training ground and adapt our training and preparation to that,” Pochettino is clear.
