Real Madrid rejected the signing of Cancelo. Will he regret his decision?

Real Madrid were not active in the January transfer window, having secured the services of youngster Frano García, but the transfer will not take place until the summer. The White Ballet were also offered Joao Cancelo, only to reject the Portuguese midfielder. The question is whether he will regret his decision.

Carlo Ancelotti has to deal with a large number of injuries in the current season, which, combined with a very busy schedule, is causing wrinkles on his forehead. The Royal club is taking part in six different competitions in the current season.

In yesterday’s game against Valencia, Karim Benzema and Éder Miliato also had to make substitutions due to injury.

No reinforcements

Real Madrid management told Ancelotti that they have to deal with the current state of the squad. He was supposed to ask for a squad addition during January, but the request was brushed off the table.

According to Fabrizio Romano, it was Cancelo who was offered to the White Ballet. However, he turned it down. The question is whether it was the right decision. Dani Carvajal’s health isn’t even 100%. He did come back from an injury during yesterday’s game, but that hasn’t served him well in the current season.

Real Madrid wouldn’t risk anything with a possible guest appearance without the need for a buyout and could be more than a quality addition to the team. The club can only hope that the decision was the right one.
