Pirate on weight loss on Gamechanger: I would like to drain from 85 kilograms. Will I be able to do it? Let’s see
Samuel Krištofič refused Tipsport Gamechanger at first, but finally he decided to accept the tempting offer and at the beginning of next month we will see him fighting in welter again. How is his weight loss going at the moment?
Because of his weight he decided to refuse the offer at first, but eventually changed his mind and will return to welterweight. Here he will face Alex Lohore.
The Frenchman was supposed to be his opponent in the past, but at middleweight. So Octagon decided to put them against each other and the fans have something to look forward to.
However, Kristofich said he’s not looking forward to the difficult weight cut. Where does the Pirate stand currently, almost a month before the tournament?
“The weight loss is going pretty much as it should. I was supposed to be 89.5 kg yesterday and I was 89.7 kg. That was kind of the goal at the end of January, so I missed it by 200 grams. But that’s not a misery or a disaster. Now I’m focusing on Feb 13th, when I have another milestone set to meet.
There, if I meet it, I’ll be more or less okay. It will then just depend on how much I drain. I’d like to drain from 85 Kg. Will I be able to do that? We’ll see. The weight went very well at the beginning, then it slowed down. There were phases where it went well, slowed down, ramped up, and then slowed down again.
We’ll see if it picks up again or if it’s just very slow and weak. I would like to drain from 85 Kg. So right now I’m at 89.7 Kg. Everything is in green standards, so that mid-February will be important. That’s where myfocus is now,” he said on his YouTube channel.
However, he should be able to handle the weight as he has some experience in dropping to welterweight. If he, or anyone else, fails, however, there are made up rules that the organization has not yet put into the light of day.
