The news of Karlos Vemola’s health scared the fans. The fight with Patrik Kinclo is in danger, although according to the promoter Ondrej Novotny there is no indication that the fight will not take place. Still, backup options are being discussed.
Karlos Vémola is in the hospital due to inflammation. After the announcement of this news, there was a lot of concern about the fight with Patrik Kinclo, which is supposed to be the highlight of the Oktagon 38 tournament.
However, the promoter Ondrej Novotny himself has tamed the fears and says that there is no indication that their title fight will not happen.
What is certain, however, is that it is a certain threat, as Vémola cannot train and the fight is less than a month away.
Also for this reason, the organization has to look for alternatives so that it doesn’t have to hurriedly find a new fighter for Kinceloe.
“Everyone tells me how fantastic Karlos is. I can’t judge from Ostrava whether those days in the hospital without training are devastating or not, but we will deal with it. Of course, we also have backup plans for such games. For me it’s still that we go plan A,” Novotny said at the press conference.
He admitted he already has a Plan B, in fact it would be strange if he didn’t. At the press conference, he answered a question about Aleksandar Ilic, whom Vémola thumped in the summer.
“Sure, Ilic is definitely an interesting option. I think he showed everybody who had the crap that he was fodder a few weeks after that that he’s not much of a fodder. I don’t think anybody thinks that anymore. Joker is definitely an interesting option without a doubt,” he added.
Ilic was widely criticized after his loss to Vemola, but shortly thereafter he put on an outstanding performance in the RCC against the experienced Alexander Shlemenko, winning by TKO in 22 seconds.
