Brito? If someone other than Kozma had been there against him, he would have decided his victory in the first round, Novotný said
David Kozma lost a fight in the Octagon after more than four years. The Ostrava patriot fell to Kaiko Brito, who, although he gave an excellent performance, was not sufficiently appreciated in the hall. Why did it happen? Ondřej Novotný tried to explain.
David Kozma lost a fight in the Octagon after more than four years. The Ostrava patriot fell to Kaiko Brito, who, although he gave an excellent performance, was not sufficiently appreciated in the hall. Why did it happen? Ondřej Novotný tried to explain.
It was the highlight of the evening of the Oktagon 37 tournament. David Kozma went to another defense of the welterweight championship belt and all indications were that this time he might already be in trouble.
That proved to be the case, Kaik Brito put on an excellent performance and if it wasn’t for referee Jan Vobornik, the fight might have ended earlier as he kept letting the reeling Kozma fight.
The arena went silent after the fight ended, after all most of the fans were rooting for Kozma. However, there were incomprehensible boos from several sides and Brito couldn’t enjoy the victory to the fullest.
“It is true that so many people were swooning over David’s performance that they forgot to appreciate Kaiko himself. This feeling was probably quite common, but it is not surprising. David is our boy, a raw model and a man everyone wanted to see win again.
That’s why he got perhaps even more recognition than the winner. Sometimes that’s just the way it is. But all the more so, I think that in hindsight, what Kaik did with David should also be highlighted. He was clearly the better man that night.
He even wrestled in a way that if anyone other than Kozma had been there against him, he would have decided his win in the first round. But when you have a piece of iron against you, it’s hard to stop it,” said promoter Ondřej Novotný in an interview with kaocko.cz.
We will also see many other fighters in it, led by Patrik Kinclo, Apollo Silva, Mate Kertész and Bojan Velickovic.
