Brito is clear about his future
Kaik Brito has a big fight ahead of him. Quite possibly the biggest of his career. He will challenge the long-time and dominant champion David Kozma on December 3 at OKTAGON 37 in Ostrava. But he does not want to fail.
“I’ll be the champion, I’ll defend my title and I’ll give my fans a lot of fun. The Octagon title is very important to me both from a career and life perspective. I know that winning the title will change a lot of things. I will be ready to defend the title against whoever the organization puts up against me,” he expressed in a recent interview with Ruik.
The Brazilian fighter is even clear on who his first challenger could be. Welterweight is really loaded with quality in the Octagon, so he would have quite a few options to choose from. But he was choosing between two names – Leandro Silva and Máté Kertész.
In the end, he would have preferred the Hungarian fighter: “ABrazilian title fight doesn’t make sense to me. The Octagon is a European organization, so it’s better to fight a European opponent.”
Things are starting to heat up between Kozma and the Brit
The Brit’s response was also noted by reigning champion David Kozma, who understandably has no intention of relinquishing his title. Indeed, his reaction is more than telling.
“Now I read here that Brito wants to defend his title against Kertész. He has to win a title first in order to defend it. Holy d*ck, that’s demented,” he expressed in a video shared by Octagon.
In the video, Kozma additionally made one gesture to indicate that something was wrong with Brito’s head. However, the Brazilian is quick to respond, “ Exactly, Kozma. I have to get the belt and then defend it. I will do that on December 3. You must be the one with some mental problems. I was just answering a question.”
So the title fight and the main event of OKTAGON 37 is starting to gain momentum.
