Spanish clubs Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are age-old rivals who compete with each other both on and off the pitch. However, the Catalan big club is now expanding into its enemy’s territory, Madrid, where it opened a new store on December 1. To do this, it has used a rather controversial form of promotion called ‘Raúl es Culer’.

The first Barca Store in Madrid was officially opened shortly after the 123rd anniversary of the club’s foundation, which was celebrated on 29 November. But the biggest stir was the way Barcelona decided to promote it.

Barcelona’s footballers will not be heading to Madrid this season as the next El Clásico will take place on March 19 at Camp Nou. However, the Catalan side will head to Madrid right from the edge of January when they take on Atlético Madrid in the second league game of next year.
