Kozma prepares for his fight with the Brit. I can’t imagine not being a champion, he admits. He also talked about contact with the UFC. What’s next?
David Kozma has another defence in front of him. This time he will be challenged by Brazilian fighter Kaik Brito. As part of his preparation, the reigning champion also headed to Ireland. Now he told the fans how he feels before the fight, what’s next and talked about contact with the UFC.

3. december will see another big fight in Ostrava on the ground of the Octagon. David Kozma will once again defend his title as well as his invincibility in the biggest Czechoslovakian organization. However, it will not be easy again.
His opponent will be the dangerous Kaik Brito, whose hand speed has taken many a fighter by surprise. The champion is aware of this very strength of the Brazilian, and he has a clear plan – to do everything he can not to stop Brito in the first round and to wear him down in the later rounds.
He feels in good shape. The fact that he has trained at the famous SBG Gym in Ireland, home to Conor McGregor and his star trainer John Kavanagh, has helped. It is Kavanagh he speaks highly of, he says he is incredibly technical and Kozma has learned a lot from him.
Kozma doesn’t want to lose. “I still have fire to defend. I’m used to being the champion and I don’t want to lose that. I can’t imagine not being a champion. The role suits me and I’m not going to let it go. And especially not in Ostrava,” he said in a video for his fans on YouTube.
What’s next?
The Pink Panther has already won big. He has beaten UFC veterans and legends of our fight scene. What’s next, though, he hasn’t addressed yet. He only reminded that he doesn’t like rematches, and he’s aware that at least with Leandro Silva or Bojan Velickovic, he offers.
A trilogy with Máté Kertész is not without a chance either. But Kozma is not interested in that one. He says he would gain nothing and get nowhere.
Does he mean the UFC, which is being talked about on our scene? “There were some talks, but somewhere along the line the communication burned out. I’m not communicating with them at the moment, but maybe one day,” Kozma revealed.
