Saturday’s English Premier League schedule offered some nice goals. In the shadow of Kevin de Bruyne’s goal, the combination of Alex Iwobi and Dwight McNeill helped Everton to a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Everton did not go into Saturday’s game in an ideal frame of mind. In the previous three rounds, they hadn’t got a point, falling to Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham. He had only a one-point lead on the relegation zone.
But he started well against Crystal Palace. Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring in the 11th minute and Everton dominated until the end of the half. Talented winger Anthony Gordon made it 2-0 after the change of sides.
The best moment of the game came at the very end. The Eagles were showing their resignation and Dwight McNeill took advantage.
He rounded three opposing players and crossed the ball into the box to Alex Iwobi. The Nigerian winger returned the ball from first touch with his heel to McNeill, who made no mistake.
The stadium erupted and it was no wonder. This action will undoubtedly be one of the candidates for Premier League Goal of the Month. The Caramels scored a goal to calm the match to win 3-0. With the three points, they jumped up to 11th place.
Iwobi confirmed with a beautiful assist that he is having his best season since his move to Everton. He has one goal and six assists to his name, and his versatility has made him useful to Frank Lampard.
