Vémola will not fight in Germany! Novotný also outlined a rematch with Attila Vegh
Karlos Vémola wished for a quick return after his surgery. But it won’t happen. Although he was interested, the promoters decided they didn’t want to rush things. The reason for that is not only the December fight, but possibly also the rematch with Attila Vegh.
Karlos Vémola wished for a quick return after his surgery. But it won’t happen. Although he was interested, the promoters decided they didn’t want to rush things. The reason for that is not only the December fight, but possibly also the rematch with Attila Vegh.
Karlos Vémola had a tough three-fight stretch after a long layoff and he certainly wasn’t planning on resting. But he had to have a planned surgery, which did slow him down for a while.
He was planning his comeback for the Octagon 36 tournament, which will take place on October 15 in Frankfurt, Germany. However, the promoters did not assign him a bout for that fight.
“We can confirm that he will not be there. He wanted it badly. I understand that and we would have wanted it too, but I think he’s got a big fight coming up and, more importantly, two surgeries behind him.
I told him he’s had two operations, three games and he’s got one more to go, he’s done five games in his most active season, so let’s be sober. He, when he gets going, would wrestle every month.
I respect that and we enjoy it, but I think shortly after the new year we have another interesting thing that he’s definitely going to be there for, so we agreed that he understands that,” said Ondrej Novotny at the post-Octagon 35 press conference.
Not surprisingly, Vemola is scheduled to fight Patrik Kinclo at the end of the year and it would be a huge shame if he gets hurt again. Plus, the last sentence hints at other plans.
They are certainly big and one can expect a long-awaited rematch with Attila Vegh. That’s why Vémola was probably fine with this verdict.
