Ondřej Novotný reacted to the fight of Aleksandar Ilić in the Russian organization within the so-called boxing without gloves. The Serbian still has a valid contract with Octagon, yet he has arranged another duel with RCC.

After demolishing Russian MMA legend Alexander Shlemenko in just 22 seconds, Aleksandar Ilic has announced his next fight.

Although it was expected that he would return to the Octagon after his spectacular victory in the Russian organization RCC, everything is different in the end.

In fact, the star Serbian has confirmed that his next fight will be back in Russia. This time, however, his fight will take place under the rules of boxing without gloves, and against another legend Magomed Ismailov.

This dangerous duel is definitely making wrinkles on the forehead of the promoters of Oktagon, with whom Ilic apparently still has a three-fight contract. How does Oktagon co-owner Ondrej Novotny see the situation?

“We could probably intervene,” Novotny said at the Oktagon 35 press conference. “He beat Shlemenko, he got big money for it, we agreed that we will let him fight this, then he will fight with us, and he also signed a contract,” he confirmed the agreement with Ilic.

“By beating him, they are on their knees to go there for a double with Ismailov, but not in MMA, which bothers us a little bit and not a little bit,” he described the situation in the Russian RCC and the huge amount of money the Serb will earn.

Novotny further noted that Ilich has done a great job for Octagon and they would find it stupid to stop him from making that kind of money, which, moreover, Octagon can’t and won’t give him.

“Let him enjoy it and hopefully it will turn out well,” he expressed his wish. “And if it doesn’t, we’ll always come up with something else,” he added. Let’s hope the Serbian “Joker” doesn’t get hurt. He showed in Russia that he’s a first-class fighter who definitely has something to offer on our stage.
