Atletico Tucuman vs. Godoy Cruz: Preview and betting tips

The poor Tuesday football schedule will be varied by the second phase of the Argentine league, with table neighbours Atletico Tucuman and Godoy Cruz clashing. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?

Tucuman crashed out of the domestic cup on Friday, but are doing well in the league compared to the first phase. It is just outside the top half of the table, it has not lost yet, and it has a three-point lead from 16th place to the relegation places.

Godoy is in a very similar position, or points-wise exactly the same, only instead of a win and three draws, he has won twice and lost twice. In the first phase, it was five points better off than Tucuman, but now it is only ahead in score.

The home team’s offense is not working very well, with top scorer Cristian Menéndez scoring three times and assisting once. Alongside him, Augusto Lotti is trying to make a name for himself, the skilful striker has scored two goals so far.

On the away side, Salomón Rodríguez is firing, the talented playmaker has scored three times, adding five more goals in the first leg. Winger Martín Ojeda has an impressive tally of six goals and eight assists in the competition.

As mentioned, Tucuman’s offense is not working. He has scored more than once in only one of his last six games.

In addition, Godoy’s defense is clearly running like clockwork, scoring more than once in only one of the last five games, even keeping a clean sheet twice.

Given the tragic form of the Tucuman attack, I think Godoy will win. The away side’s shooting prowess is also helping.
