Barbora Votíková played in the Champions League semi-final against Lyon, but was injured at the end of the first half and did not play the second half. The fears came true, Votíková has torn ligaments and will not play again this season.
The PSG women’s team made it to the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they faced Olympique Lyon. The opening match was played in Lyon with the PSG women’s footballers coming away with a 2:3 defeat.
So they needed to win at home, which they failed to do. Moreover, they lost their number one goalkeeper Barbora Votíková.
She got injured at the end of the first half, finished the half with significant pain and then was substituted. She has now had an examination which has confirmed the concerns.
“After the injury in Saturday’s return match, Barbora Votíková underwent another medical examination.
It revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee, which will prevent her from playing for the rest of the season. Paris Saint-Germain fully supports Barbora and wishes her a speedy recovery,” the club announced on its website.
The season ended prematurely for the Czech footballer. After her return, she will surely face a tough fight for a return between the sticks, as the competition in the club is quite high.
