On Saturday, another Oktagon 31 gala took place, in which Patrik Kincl won the middleweight champion belt of the Oktagon organization. But Karlos Vémola said he was not convinced by the performance of the newly crowned champion and indirectly accused him of doping.
Patrik Kincl returned to the domestic scene after almost three years and went straight for the middleweight championship belt in his debut in the leading Czech MMA organization Oktagon. Last year, his conqueror from his previous stint in the Czech Republic, Karlos “Terminator” Vémola, reigned supreme there.
He defeated him in a three-round battle on points in the then home organization XFN. Since then, however, both fighters’ careers have gone in different directions and both fighters have evolved. Now, however, it looks like their paths could cross again, as they both wrestle in the same weight class in the Octagon.
Regarding the possible fight, Vémola spoke to iSport.cz not only about Kinclova’s performance in the title fight with the Pirate, but also evaluated the transformation of the current champion in terms of his body proportions.
“What can I say? I expected a little bit better performance from both sides,” Vémola evaluated the performance of both protagonists of the main evening of Oktagon 31 .
According to the Terminator, Patrik Kincl showed that he is no longer the fighter who can rely on his stamina. “By pumping himself up like that…or let’s say eating himself up.
I’m not going to accuse anyone of anything, but by putting on muscle like that, he wasn’t Kincl like he used to be,” Vémola referred to Kincl’s increase in muscle mass, which according to Karlos, resulted in a decline in performance in the fifth round. “The fourth fifth round completely died,” he added of the new Octagon champion’s performance.
Vemola then indirectly accused Kinclo of doping. “Kincl was talking shit at the time about me doping and stuff like that. If you look at my picture ten years ago and now, my figure hasn’t changed in any way,” he pointed to Patrik Kincl’s digs towards him.
“Look at how he looked last year and how he came there now. Let everyone draw their own conclusion,” he returned Kinclo with the same coin.
There is certainly no doubt about the spiciness of a possible duel, whether from a sporting or personal point of view. But Karlos first needs to recover and manage his fight with Pirate, which according to him should take place in the summer at Štvanice.
