RFA? I was amazed at their unprofessionalism! Marhansky made himself my spokesman, says Pest
Viktor Peshta won the Octagon title in the fall, then a rematch was announced, which Peshta did not even confirm. His contract expired and he has not signed a new one yet. He also negotiated with the RFA, but its promoter Marhansky said that Pešta is heading abroad. But Pešta didn’t like that statement. Why?
Viktor Peshta won the Octagon title in the fall, then a rematch was announced, which Peshta did not even confirm. His contract expired and he has not signed a new one yet. He also negotiated with the RFA, but its promoter Marhansky said that Pešta is heading abroad. But Pešta didn’t like that statement. Why?
When the news came out that Viktor Peshta was basically unaware of the announced rematch with Stephan Püetz, Oktagon promoter Ondrej Novotny wasn’t having the best of times.
The miscommunication reduced the chances of Pešta signing a new contract, which ended in Oktagon. But both sides already knew that the road would lead more abroad.
Peshta was also in talks with the RFA, a new organization that has its first tournament in March. According to him, he was particularly interested in the fact that promoter Boris Marhansky promised doping tests.
Pešta has heard of these and would like to see them come to the domestic scene. But in the end he did not come to an agreement with the RFA, because he had an offer from the PFL on the table and decided to go abroad.
But he didn’t like Marhansky’s statement. “I just listened to the offer. Then Boris announced that I was leaving OKTAGON and going abroad, and I was amazed at their unprofessionalism to let something like that out. Such confidential information that he would make himself my spokesman.
I couldn’t think straight. However, I still couldn’t say anything about it because by that time I was under contract from the PFL and I couldn’t confirm or deny anything and had to keep quiet. I just shrugged my shoulders and tapped my forehead,” he said on his stream.
