The new RFA organization is trying to keep the best fighters with them, so it’s pulling people from the Octagon thanks to the promise of higher paydays. Karlos Vémola has also received an offer, but he has so far refused it, but he said that there is a possibility that he would fight under this organization next year.
When the new RFA organization came into the world, many feared that it would be another XFN, which unhealthily tilted the environment in domestic MMA and subsequently failed to pay fighters the promised money.
The RFA claims it will be different, which may not be confirmed for months or years to come, now the new organization is trying to poach Octagon fighters, even with the prospect of higher paydays.
Karlos Vémola has also received an offer, what did he have to say about it? “I’m a big fan of the new organization because I’m all about MMA. I care about the growth. I’m looking to the future. I have a history with the Octagon and I believe in the Octagon.
To be offered three times that much is nice, but what about a year from now. Nobody knows what’s gonna happen next year. I talked to the new organization and told them to contact me in a year. A year from now, we’ll see where you are. Maybe you’ll be selling out the O2 Arena and it’ll be a project I’ll be happy to be a part of.
I want to see a little bit of the future and for me right now, Oktagon is the future. Maybe I’m fighting there now for a little bit less money than I would get elsewhere, but I have some security, some solid access,” he said in a stream for FightLive.
So he didn’t rule out moving to the RFA next year. After all, his contract in the Octagon expires in exactly one year, and he’ll no doubt be negotiating financial terms.
The captured organization will have to significantly increase his paycheck, and it’s questionable whether it will be able to do so. Especially if there is still a problem with coronavirus in the Czech Republic.
Vémola also spoke about Leo Bricht, who transferred to the RFA and attended the press conference, although he still has a valid contract in the Octagon.
Vémola said that the organization should rise above some judging and fining. He understands that he wants to make more money, even if he really only makes 3,000 euros per fight.
