Who will be the replacement for the battle between Vemola and Pirate? Octagon has a clear answer!
At the end of 2021 we will see Karlos Vemola fight Samuel Kristofich for the middleweight title. However, there also needs to be a designated replacement to step in if one of them is injured. The pair of replacements is already clear, in Pardubice it will be decided who it will be.
At the end of 2021 we will see Karlos Vemola fight Samuel Kristofich for the middleweight title. However, there also needs to be a designated replacement to step in if one of them is injured. The pair of replacements is already clear, in Pardubice it will be decided who it will be.
That pair is Robert Bryczek – Zdenek Polívka. They will face each other on November 6 in Pardubice during the Oktagon Prime 4 tournament.
However, promoter Ondřej Novotný recently talked about offering a fight with Bryczek to the Czech fighter, who turned it down despite the fact that the winner would be an alternate for the title fight.
That fighter was supposed to be Patrik Kincl, but he let it be known that the November date didn’t suit him. But the Polívka-Bryczek fight is a harbinger that there will definitely be an alternate title fight.
“I’ll leave it up to the promoter to make an official statement as far as a replacement for the title fight. All I can say is that this fight is extremely important to me and a huge opportunity, which is my answer. So I’m just focusing on getting it done and what comes after that is out of my mind at the moment,” Polívka told MMA Shorties.
By doing so, he indirectly confirmed the fight. So we can look forward to Oktagon Prime 4, which is headlined by a title fight between Filip Mack and Jonas Magaard.
Polívka and Bryczek come in as the third biggest match of the tournament, with only a rematch between them and the title match between Lucie Pudilova and Marta Waliczek.
