A really dramatic situation happened during the overtime of the MOL Cup match between Slavičín and Frýdek-Místek. Bidje Manzia was racially insulted by a spectator, with whom he went to settle the matter afterwards.
The 1/64-final of the MOL Cup, in which teams from lower competitions start, was played on Wednesday evening. This time it was the home team Slavičín, playing in Division E, against the third league team Frýdek-Místek.
The visitors took the lead in the 25th minute, but the home side equalised in the first half and took the lead in the 85th minute. However, in the setup of the match, the visiting Barkov equalised and it went into extra time.
The home team’s Stastny scored, but after that a moment happened that we definitely don’t want to see in our stadiums.
Bidje Manzia, a player of the visiting team, who in the past played for Opava or Olomouc Sigma, was racially attacked by a spectator.
However, he didn’t take this lying down and walked up to the spectator in question and hit him on the head. Because of this, he had to leave the pitch early.
Manzio’s behaviour is understandable, of course, racist statements have no place on the pitch and if the organiser can’t deal with it, the player himself had to intervene, although it would have been better if he hadn’t rushed to this act.
UPDATE:: According to Frýdek-Místek’s substitute goalkeeper Josef Kveton, Manzia accidentally hit a man who was not insulting him. He was standing right behind him.
