The rematch between Vemola and Attila will be on! It’s a fight we all still want to see. We just have to decide if we want to do it now, Novotný admitted
A few weeks ago, Octagon announced the news we’ve been waiting a few years for. Namely, we’ll see a rematch between Karlos Vemola and Attila Vegh, with the Terminator mentioning that if he doesn’t beat Patrik Kinceloe, it won’t happen. Vemola lost, but according to Ondrej Novotny, the rematch is thankfully not in jeopardy.

Karlos Vémola did not hide his feelings of sadness after his defeat to Attila Vegh. He definitely lost the chance to return to his dream UFC. From then on, he did everything he could to make sure there was a rematch.
Végh waited for a long time, Vémola fought and won in the meantime, and a few weeks ago all parties finally came to an agreement and the organization announced to the public that the fight would take place. Although they left the date undetermined.
However, Vémola also had another long-awaited rematch, with Patrik Kinclo. He said before the fight that if he loses to someone like Kincl, there is no point in him fighting a champion like Attila.
However, his words backfired badly as Vemola fell on points, quickly left the cage and headed to the hospital. Although the fight was fairly even and some even saw Vémola win, he received a lot of jeers.
People reminded him of his words and waited to see if there would be a rematch. Even Kincl took it with humour, basically arranging a fight with Attila in case Vemola wasn’t interested. But Végh made it clear that a rematch with Terminator was his priority.
So will it come to that? Promoter and presenter Ondřej Novotný confirmed in an interview with Kaocko.cz that we shouldn’t lose the fight. But it is quite possible that it will not be at the end of this year, as many predicted.
“I think it’s a game we all still want to see. Attila brought it up very nicely that he lost to Zwicker before their first fight and it didn’t affect the fans’ interest in the Match of the Century.
Plus, Patrik is somewhere completely different than Zwicker was back then. So it doesn’t change anything about the match. We just have to figure out if we want to do it now. We have toagree on how it will be, ” Novotny said.
