Kincl: Vmola has moved on quite a bit in his lying. Has he disrupted plans for a second child by hitting his groin? My wife and I will check, jokes the champion

Patrik Kincl, still the Octagon middleweight champion, has already had his second successful title defense. This time he was no match for Karlos Vémola, who left the cage in a condition we have never seen him in before. The king of the under-84kg division revealed how Terminator has improved since their first fight together, and hinted at the problems.

Unilateralism may bear fruit, but this time Karlos Vémola clashed hard with it. He drowned in his own game. Patrik Kincl showed fantastic defense against takedowns, as Terminator didn’t deliver a single one that could have counted.

He did take the Inspector down a couple of times, but he always got right back up and didn’t allow any complications. On the contrary, even from an unfavorable position on the canvas, he was able to deliver blow after blow, and one would almost like to say that he made Vemola’s face into autograph papers.

Not that he was happy about the match, though. The result is perfect for him, but he would have liked a different course. Incidentally, he complained that the referee could have been more torn by the inactive clinch from Vemola. In addition, he had to endure several punches to the groin.

He joked on the subject at the press conference, ” In the next few minutes, I’m looking forward to checking with my wife how the ten or so bullet punches I took there went. We lightly broached the subject of a second child last week, so I’d hate to have any sad memories of this game.”

The defense means a lot to Kinceloe. He got his start in MMA in 2007, back then in small bars. Now he’s defended his title in the biggest tournament in Czech history.

And how did he assess the Terminator’s progression since their first fight five years ago? “Karel has moved on quite a bit in lying. He talked about shaking my hand after the fight, no matter what the outcome. None of that happened. He’s moved on nicely,” Kincl says.

But then he evaluated the performance, ” I don’t think he made any extra technical progress in his game. Or I wasn’t able to perceive it. We didn’t end up on the ground, I was able to get up from it. I think it was more me shifting. I deflected it all.”

Beyond that, the Inspector has one more grievance. Due to health complications, he didn’t put in the performance he wanted. He admits that he made the mistake of wanting to take the win with one punch and not having his hands as loose and moving better.

But that’s in the past. The big win is his and now the big celebrations can begin.
