Kincl reached his career high in the world rankings after the win! Vémola had a dramatic drop for a change

Patrik Kincl celebrates, Karlos Vémola retires. One is having fantastic moments, the other is suffering. The winner has reached his personal best in the world rankings, the Terminator has to bite a rather large drop.

OKTAGON 43 offered a long-awaited rematch in the nearly sold-out O2 Arena. Patrik Kincl and Karlos Vémola provided the main match. Although Terminator raised his hands and believed in winning after the fifth round, he lost quite clearly on points.

Of the three judges, only one gave him at least one round. The other two judges saw the Inspector win all five rounds. Yet all they had to do was see what someone looked like and know how the fights were scored.

Effective striking comes first in modern MMA. Any pressure generation combined with control without any kind of successful grappling or striking is virtually meaningless. In fact, not much more than successful defense.

Nevertheless, there were still many fighters or people around MMA that didn’t really know who should win. But we can also find fault in the fact that judges often do not decide uniformly and do not always follow the above mentioned rule.

However, both fighters are now in completely different situations. Kincl can enjoy the success and glory, Vémola is under the fire of various jokes and criticism for his behaviour after the fight when he couldn’t take the loss.

And now we know how the result of the duel was reflected in the world rankings on the respected Fight Matrix website.

With the win, Kincl reached a personal career high, moving up to a nice 46th place in the middleweight division. Until now, his best position was #52, which he held before his fight with Terminator.

Vémola, on the other hand, dropped many places. He is closer to dropping out of the top 100 than the world top 50. We find him as high as 85th. Before the match, he was ranked 51st. He reached a career high in 2019 (44th in the welterweight division).
