The Grizzly has destroyed the Viking and is making more plans. The fight could have been over sooner. I’m interested in the Terminator at welterweight, Jeremy Kimball reports
Jeremy Kimball has had a great game. Ruben Wolf took a lot, but Grizzly absolutely destroyed him in two rounds. In an interview with Ruik, he revealed how he felt about the fight and went straight into showing who he would want as his first opponent at welterweight.
Jeremy Kimball has had a great game. Ruben Wolf took a lot, but Grizzly absolutely destroyed him in two rounds. In an interview with Ruik, he revealed how he felt about the fight and went straight into showing who he would want as his first opponent at welterweight.
Grizzly wants to return to the welterweight division and the first step on his journey was a fight at the arranged weight of 104 kilograms against Ruben Wolfe. The American fighter actually made the weight and even managed to underweight by about two kilograms.
“The drop was absolutely trouble-free. I trained hard, I did everything right. I think I’ll be back at welterweight the very next fight or the one after that,” Jeremy Kimball expressed in an interview with Ruik.
According to his words, he didn’t gain much weight after the official weigh-in. But instead, the popular American revealed that he had to lose a lot of weight. So he managed the first tough fight and then he only had to “destroy” his opponent.
He did it in two rounds after a dominant performance. “I am very satisfied with my performance. I’ve seen the footage and found some things I need to work on and improve for the next fight,” Grizzly reports.
Kimball was almost completely in control of the match. The only thing that seemed to bother him was the hard legkicks from his opponent, ” Of course, when they hit, I felt them. I knew he was strong, but he caught me off guard with their speed. He didn’t cause me much trouble though. Nothing else bothered me.”
Wolf did not look good in the match. If the referee had stopped the fight earlier, no one could have been surprised. “I think it really could have been stopped earlier, but I’m not a referee. I just kept attacking until it was over,” the UFC veteran said.
“I enjoyed being back in the cage, but I didn’t want to go crazy trying to end the fight as quickly as possible. I didn’t want to step on the gas too much and tire myself out,” he comments on his patient performance.
The German fighter impressed Kimball with his toughness. He says he will definitely be watching his next fight. And that he would have his next fight in October in Bratislava? “It’s a great place, but I don’t know when my next fight will be. I’d love to show up here again though.”
He is yet to think about his future plans. “I’m healthy and I’ll see what my body does with the weight. I’ll decide on my next fight in the next few weeks. Right now I don’t have a specific name in my head for the next fight, but when I get back to welterweight, I would be interested in Stephan Pütz. I would give the fans a big and great fight,” Grizzly concluded the interview.
However, Pütz, as the German Terminator under the T-800 moniker, is currently dealing with health issues and it is unclear when he will be well. His fight with Kimball would certainly interest the fans though.
