Keita on Tichot: He deserves a lot of respect! He didn’t have much time to change his mind

Losene Keita was supposed to have a featherweight title fight at the end of April, but reigning champion Mate Sanikidze won’t be able to make it due to injury. However, Octagon has rushed in a replacement, and he will face Jakub Tichota for the interim title. What did he say about him?
The tournament in Bratislava came shortly before the main event, which was to be catered by Georgian Mate Sanikidze and Belgian Losen Keita. However, the reigning champion was injured, leaving Oktagon looking for a replacement for Keita.
A few days later he found it, and against Keita will face the brave Jakub Tichota, who in December in Ostrava fell for the first time in his career with Sanikidze in the featherweight title fight.
So now he will have a chance to make amends, but his chances are not very high according to many. Keita appreciates his acceptance of the fight, which he confirmed live with promoter Ondrej Novotny.
“First of all, I want to thank Tichot for taking it at the last minute. He didn’t have much time to change his mind. For that he deserves a huge respect.
He is a great fighter. Of course I watched his fight with Sanikidz because I analyzed both of them. Actually, it worked out perfectly in the end, because I have a lot of Tichota’s training for Mate,” he said on MMA Flight Through the World.
Although the fight will only be for the interim title, it clearly doesn’t diminish the motivation to win. Keita is the king of the lightweight division and moving up to featherweight is not a big problem for him.
“The weight won’t be a problem. When I fight at lightweight, I don’t even have to worry about dieting and it pretty much goes without saying. But now I’m very disciplined and I choose what I eat a lot. It makes me feel like a better fighter.
I’m really dedicated to it and I feel like a real athlete. I don’t really keep anything a secret. I put out footage of training and stuff like that. Ten fighters have thought they could beat me and they still haven’t. Just let Tichota think he knows the recipe for me, ” Keita added.
