Octagon at Štvanica? There’s a technical problem. It’s not easy to do sport in Prague, said Novotný
If we asked Oktagon fans which tournament of the year they like the most, most of them would mention the one at Štvanica. The tournament in the open tennis arena is held in the summer and is usually sold out very quickly. But will we see it again this year? Promoter Ondřej Novotný outlined the difficulties.
If we asked Oktagon fans which tournament of the year they like the most, most of them would mention the one at Štvanica. The tournament in the open tennis arena is held in the summer and is usually sold out very quickly. But will we see it again this year? Promoter Ondřej Novotný outlined the difficulties.
The tournament at Štvanice is traditionally held at the end of July, with tens of thousands of fans looking forward to it. However, only a part of them will be able to get directly into the centre of the action.
Oktagon promised the tournament this year as well, we can always look forward to packed matches, but this time there is not much information about the tournament yet. And that includes zero promos.
That’s also why fans are worried about whether the tournament will even happen. Ondřej Novotný has now explained the situation in his broadcast, but he didn’t give very happy news.
“When will Štvanice take place? We have some technical problem there. We already started to publish it and so on, but then we reached some dead end. As soon as we know, we’ll post it.
I know a lot of you have already booked tickets and so on for the last Saturday in July. We’ll see… I’m unhappy about it myself. I had no idea this was gonna come out. It’s not easy to do sports in Prague, if I put it like that,” Novotny said on his MMA Flight Around the World show.
So let’s hope everything gets sorted out and the tournament at Štvanica will happen. However, the organization will undoubtedly do everything it can to make sure it works out and the fans see the tournament.
What events are currently planned? Already on April 15th there will be the Oktagon 41:: Liberec tournament, followed by Oktagon 42: on April 29th: Bratislava, then on May 20 Oktagon 43:: Prague and on June 17th Oktagon 44:: Oberhausen.
