Weight problem? I’m not going to lie, there are still some kilos missing, but we can handle everything, Vémola reassured the fans
For almost his entire career, Karlos Vémola has criticized opponents who have failed to make weight. Then the same thing happened to him in his fight with Milan Datelinca and since then he has not been the Oktagon middleweight champion. Now he has a fight with Al Matava and, as he admits, he is still some pounds short of fighting weight.
On April 15th we will see the next tournament of the Oktagon MMA organization. This time it will take place in Liberec for the first time in its history and we can look forward to interesting fights.
Jonas Magard will face Gustavo Lopez for the bantamweight title and Karlos Vémola, returning from injury, will be looking to finish Al Matavao.
He’s been given this fight to start, as he’ll be going up against Patrik Kinclo a month after that, and there can be no question of a possible loss. Where does Terminator stand at the moment?
He’s been keeping fans updated on his Instagram regularly and this time he put up a video on stories where he’s running on the belt and mentions that he’s working on his weight.
“My lions have been fed and now it’s time to make weight because it’s about a fortnight to the weigh-in in Liberec and I’m not going to lie, there’s still some kilos missing but we’ll get it all done,” he said on his Instagram.
With Matavao, Vémola will go up to 89 kilos in the agreed weight, so fans don’t have to worry about him not making the weight. Although there is one minor hitch.
Because of his next fight, which will be in the 84-pound weight class, Vémola can’t pack on as much after the weigh-ins. So it’s a question of what strategy he’ll choose and whether he’ll take the risk.
