Conor McGregor has already got his health back together and is currently working on getting back in shape. In addition, he has become a coach on The Ultimate Fighter show and eventually has a fight with Michael Chandler. He is said to have a lot to look forward to.
The Irish star is gearing up for his return to the UFC cage and although he has been picking up more losses in recent fights, this is one of the most anticipated moments of the year. All the more so now that we know who he’ll be fighting.
Conor McGregor is a coach on The Ultimate Fighter show, with Michael Chandler on the other side. When that show ends, both fighters will face each other in the cage and we’re in for a no-doubt awesome split.
Chandler’s fights keep the fans entertained. And McGregor, for a change, is a star the world knows. Even beyond the confines of combat sports. But the question is, who’s really supposed to be the favorite? Even Chandler hasn’t been picking up one win after another in his last few fights.
But Chandler has been much more competitive in his fights than McGregor, who twice fell short against Dustin Poirier. The latter took the Irishman apart in two fights and beat him pretty clearly.
McGregor did make one big mistake, though. At least that’s according to veteran Stephen Thompson, also known as Wonderboy, who recently spent some time with Irish.
“He went into his fights against Dustin in a sort of boxing mentality. Now he’s listening to the fans and going back to his roots. He’s training with karate players and changing his movement habits. He‘s going to look completely different in his next fight,” Thompson said.
Among other things, Wonderboy admires the way the Irishman has overcome his injury. He says his mind is really strong as McGregor acts as if he never actually had a broken leg.
