Octagon has its third tournament in Germany, the first one in Munich, Bavaria. However, it will look to one more new city this year, and promoters have hinted that it’s not the final one. A new country is also in play.
A third tournament, a third high attendance and a third success. OKTAGON 39 offered a great spectacle and the fans in Munich were certainly not bored. After all, the Bavarian big city was treated to probably the biggest MMA tournament in its history.
It was a follow-up to the two successful tournaments in Frankfurt and the expansion of the biggest Czechoslovak organization into the German market looks very successful. And it’s definitely not over yet. On the contrary. This is just the beginning.
Oktagon has only the biggest plans and intends to proceed accordingly. Moreover, one of the founders of the organisation, Pavol Neruda, admitted at a press conference that a spectacular event in the German capital could take place within the next year.
“Berlin is definitely a city where we want to show our face. We have already visited the Mercedes-Benz Arena. We won’t be there this year, but we are discussing next year,” Neruda was quoted as saying.
It is worth mentioning that the aforementioned arena has a capacity of 17,000 seats. Oktagon has never visited such a large stadium outside of Czechoslovakia.
Moreover, Neruda admitted that there is a big chance that Oktagon will also head to Stuttgart, however, the date when this could happen is being discussed.
And a new country is also in play. In fact, a French journalist appeared at the press conference and pointed out that there is also interest in Oktagon in France. After all, it is represented in the organization by Alex Lohoré and Jorick Montagnac.
“We are looking around for several countries in Europe. France is also on our horizon. I believe that sooner or later we will appear in France,” says Neruda.
The Losene Keite fighter then tried to get Neruda and Ondrej Novotny to hype up the idea of the Octagon heading to his Belgium as well. However, he got the same style of response.
