You’re not hanging up, you’re out! The Octagon has set the rules for Gamechanger, wrestlers must be careful
The Tipsport Gamechanger tournament is coming soon, the first weekend in March. According to the current information, there should be no changes to the starting card, but it is possible that everything will change after the weigh-in. What happens if a wrestler fails to make weight?
We already know the specific fights and unless there are any injuries, nothing will change. Of course, with the exception of the weigh-ins.
This is where it can happen that a wrestler simply doesn’t make the required weight, which is quite a big problem in this tournament.
“What happens if he doesn’t weigh in? Find the rules. Everything is thought of in the Gamechanger rules. There’s amaximum overweight and then you fall out of the pyramid,” Ondrej Novotny said on MMA Flight Around the World.
So what exactly do the rules say? The weight limit is 77.1 kilograms, with a tolerance of 0.5 kilograms. So the maximum a fighter can weigh in at 77.6 kilograms.
If he overweighs, he gets a chance to weigh in after two hours. If he fails even after that, he is out of the tournament and the next in line gets a chance.
In that case, it would be the top-seeded fighter in the division according to the Octagon rankings, so it would be Andrei Kalashnik, who goes up against Matus Yuracek as part of a reserve match.
