Will Vémola’s next opponent be Pirate or Kincl?
Karlos “Terminator” Vémola, who was present at the Oktagon 31 tournament, managed to present his plans for a spectacular return to the Octagon in the studio.
Karlos “Terminator” Vémola, who was present at the Oktagon 31 tournament, managed to present his plans for a spectacular return to the Octagon in the studio.
The injured Vémola in a feud with Pirate Kristofich
Karlos Vémola, who despite having long been nursing a lingering shoulder injury, is still considered one of the biggest stars of the Oktagon MMA organization. During Saturday’s Oktagon 31 gala, he made an in-studio appearance and confirmed that his return to the fight scene is imminent.
The last time we saw Terminator Karlos Vemola in the cage was 11 months ago when he took on Milan Datelink in an Oktagon middleweight title fight. However, despite winning, he did not get the coveted belt because he did not meet the weight limit for the Oktagon title holder.
The middleweight championship belt was won a few months later at Prague’s Štvanice after a five-round battle with Poland’s Naruszczka by Samuel Pirát Krištofič. Thus began the mutual animosity between Vemola and the newly elected champion.
The Czech star let it be known that the middleweight championship belt is his and the Slovakian wrestler’s performance is not worthy of an Octagon champion. The Pirate, of course, didn’t take the attacks on his person lying down, and an interesting rivalry arose.
The Oktagon organization then started to promote a duel between the two fighters, but unfortunately Terminator’s “parts broke down” and due to injury he was out of the possibility to fight for a long time.
During Octagon 31, Vemola challenged the Pirate
Saturday’s tournament then saw a title fight between champion Kristofich and returning challenger Patrik Kinclo. The Czech fighter won the championship belt after a dominant victory and of course the question of what was next for the division came to the surface.
Karlos Vémola confirmed his previous words in the Oktagon studio that he would be happy if his next opponent in MMA would be Samuel Pirát Krištofič. “I’m looking forward to seeing Pirat at Štvanici,” he said about his possible next opponent.
“I hope Pirat wins the fight because I want my next fight to be a title fight,” Vémola expressed his wish, which was not confirmed. “If Kincl wins, I will fight for the title in the fall,” he insisted.
Kincl, Novotny and Pirat all commented on Vémola’s opponent
At the post-match press conference, fresh champion Patrik Kincl, promoter Ondřej Novotný and loser Samuel Krištofič also commented on the topic. “For me the Pirate vs. Vémola fight has no sense. The Pirate obviously doesn’t like this style, so there is only one fight to consider,” suggested the champion Kincl about his fight with Vémola.
“Karlos will be boxing in May, so we’ll see what his hand does,” added Oktagon co-owner Novotny. “But we all want to see the Vémola vs. Kincl fight, so we’ll see how it turns out,” he did not rule out the possibility of the two fighters clashing for the middleweight title.
Former champion Pirat Krištofič, who lost his belt, was vague. “I thought I would win the fight,” said a clearly frustrated Kristofich. “Now I really don’t know what will happen,” he added disappointedly.
Karlos Vémola, who is a well-known wrestler, will try to fight in one of the biggest challenges of his life in May in a boxing duel with the artist Marp. Hopefully, the rehabilitation of Vémola will go as well as possible and we will soon see a resolution to the situation in the middleweight division.
