Will Novotny stop introducing matches? Oktagon promoter outlined that the organization is discussing a change due to the language barrier
Ondřej Novotný has held several positions since the very beginning of Oktagon. One of them is the introduction of matches that many fans cannot imagine without him. But isn’t a change coming? The promoter outlined that this topic is being discussed in the organization and he is not against it.
Ondřej Novotný has held several positions since the very beginning of Oktagon. One of them is the introduction of matches that many fans cannot imagine without him. But isn’t a change coming? The promoter outlined that this topic is being discussed in the organization and he is not against it.
When Oktagon first went beyond the borders of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, it was discussed who would present the fighters in the cage. After all, someone with excellent English would be suitable for such a position.
Nevertheless, Ondrej Novotny worked on himself and eventually stayed in this role. In the autumn, however, Oktagon will show in England, specifically in Manchester, and this issue is being addressed again.
“Should I leave the matchmaking to Bryan?” Novotny asked his fans on MMA Flight Around the World. He then explained the situation and added that he was thinking about it himself.
“Look, I have enough self-reflection that I offered it to my company. I said we’re going to do it, that I don’t insist on it, that I don’t insist on it at all. Let’s go pick somebody,” he added.
But change is unlikely, or at least not currently. Novotny simply belongs in the cage and the fans love him. So do the fighters themselves.
“We’ve talked about it with German managers, with Eckerlin, with Lacey, Pickett, we just broach the subject more than you might think. I’m the one who talks to God.
If it’s my time, then one day I can shout here at a Czech game and let’s move on. I’m OK with that. I’m open to it. Let’s find someone who will do it. Why not?” finished the promoter.
