There is a lot of debate about Karlos Vémol, who has decided to compete in the Liberec tournament, which is a month before his announced fight with Patrik Kinclo.
Many fans were upset as his starting shortly before the title fight puts him in quite a bit of danger. Kincl sees it the same way, as he didn’t leave a dry thread on Vémol’s social media.
Ondřej Novotný, however, decided to try to bring the fans closer to the situation and described how things actually went. Kincl had known about the match for some time.
“For us it is interesting when Karlos is fighting. At first I wasn’t in favour of him going to the fight, but on the other hand Karlos has never been a person to get hurt and withdraw from fights.
The decision in front of us was either we make the fight as soon as possible, with the proviso that Karlos just wrestles in Liberec in a fight that shouldn’t be the hardest fight possible in the world, but at the same time should be good enough to test his realistic readiness.
That’s what I told Patrick, saying that if he just gets hurt, we have a replacement. Everyone agreed, it wasn’t a bolt from the blue. To me that’s a fair condition, the dude doesn’t want to stand for a year and then jump into a fight with Kinclo.
So when I had to decide whether to have the fight or not, I agreed with the others that yes, even in that constellation. Things are never perfect and you always have to find a consensus,” promoter Novotny said on MMA Flight Around the World.
So if the organization doesn’t agree to this condition, we wouldn’t see a rematch between Kinceloe and Vemola in the first half of this year. So let’s hope that Terminator doesn’t really get hurt and the whole affair finally comes to an end.
