Why did Macek move to KSW? The reason is loss of motivation! It will be such a new start for his career, admitted coach Reinders
The former Octagon fighter decided to make a change after his defeat to Gustavo Lopez. After many years in the Czech organization, he went to KSW, where he will face a fight with Polish fighter Przybysz. His coach André Reinders has now explained why he decided to make the switch.
The former Octagon fighter decided to make a change after his defeat to Gustavo Lopez. After many years in the Czech organization, he went to KSW, where he will face a fight with Polish fighter Przybysz. His coach André Reinders has now explained why he decided to make the switch.
A few days ago it was announced by the Polish organization KSW that the new member of the organization is the former Oktagon champion Filip Macek. He last fought Gustavo Lopez, whom he lost to in the first round.
There was a huge disappointment on Macek’s face and fans were worried about a long layoff. But with the move to KSW he has regained his appetite to fight and now has another fight announced. His opponent will be the two years younger Polish Sebastian Przybysz.
The date is also known, the fight will take place on May 13. Why did Macek decide to make the change? His coach André Reinders explained it in an interview for TN.cz.
“KSW has been interested in Filip for a long time. We have been communicating since the autumn of last year. But we told them that we still had some commitments to the Octagon.
We were still dealing with the title fight, so we didn’t really consider the offer. But after the setback, we were looking for new motivation for Filip,” Reinders said.
“He has a great record outside of title fights, where he has finished all of his opponents before the limit. But he hasn’t done well in title fights. In the end, we took KSW because of the motivation. I think Filip signing the contract will give him a new drive. It will be a new start of his career,” he added.
If Mack manages to win the fight with Przybysz, he could be another title challenger. But he’s certainly not going to have it easy, and it’s going to be about not losing for the second time in a row.
