21. on May, the Oktagon Underground tournament will feature a boxing duel between Karlos Vémola and Otakar “Marp” Petrina.
The favourite is the experienced MMA fighter, although many believe his opponent is more likely to be one of those who are uninitiated in combat sports.
One of those who trust Marpa more is Patrik Kincl, Vemola’s rival. “I pick Marpa. For one thing, I’m more of a fan of him, I think that’s obvious.
And I think he has the boxing skills to do it, as well as some experience. He has been preparing for a long time, so I believe he could succeed,” he said in an interview with iSport.
It is Vemola who he is expected to face, as he owns the middleweight title. How is their fight currently shaping up?
“I’ve already had talks with Ondra Novotny on the subject, I hope it looks good. I have to apologize though, I can’t talk much about internal stuff. I don’t even know exactly what stage it’s at, but the way we’ve been talking, he’s interested in the fight,” he added.
So there is a chance that their fight will happen at the very top of the year, at the O2 Arena. However, it is a question of when, as the final Saturdays belong to the biggest holidays of the year, namely Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
