Where is the best place for an MMA fighter to earn money in the country? In RFA it’s completely different than in Oktagon, I got more in IAF, said Hosek
David Hosek is one of the many who decided to leave the Octagon and take advantage of the offer of the RFA organization. The organization pays higher wages and also allows wrestlers to wrestle elsewhere. Hošek also tried wrestling in the IAF and compared the pay in these organizations.

David Hošek has been wrestling under the Oktagon banner since the Oktagon 7 tournament. Then he scored a draw with Tomas Melis and subsequently appeared in seven other tournaments.
Since 2022, however, he has been a fighter of the RFA organization, which has offered him a contract with a higher salary and, in addition, the possibility to fight in other organizations if he wishes.
So it’s not surprising that Hosek made the decision he did. On Saturday, he got a start in the I Am Fighter (IAF) organization and even was able to enjoy a victory.
He didn’t give Martin Horski a chance and in less than four minutes he was done in Prague’s Královka. After the fight, he also talked about the Octagon, where he said he wasn’t getting a big payday.
“When I fought in the Octagon, I couldn’t go anywhere else, at most they would release me to the UFC or Bellator. With RFA it’s different, easier. I’m really happy with RFA overall. Comparatively, financially, it’s completely different than Oktagon.
He’s been gradually increasing my money, but still. The money for my last fight with them – against Marcin Naruszczko (TKO win in the 2nd round) – was less than what I’m getting now from the IAF for my fight with Horski. So in my case, you can say that IAF pays better than Octagon,” he said in the post-fight interview.
The fact that the Oktagon pays less than the RFA has been known for some time. However, the information that he got more money in the IAF will surprise many.
But it can be said that every fighter gets the money he deserves for his performance and especially for his media appeal. If someone can attract a lot of fans to the arena, he probably won’t be unhappy with his payout.
