What happens if Buchinger gets the third belt? I want to fight for a fourth against Vemola, he says

Ivan Buchinger may become a world unique! The Slovakian fighter has already won two titles in two weight classes in the Octagon organization, and now he is heading for a third. And if he gets it, he says with humour that he would like to fight for a fourth one.

Ivan Buchinger already has two titles in the Oktagon organization, at featherweight and lightweight. Now he has a chance to fight for a third title in his third fight in the organization.

At welterweight, he will face David Kozma, who is the longest reigning champion of the domestic organization. However, Buchinger is not afraid of the challenge.

Even though there will be a significant weight difference between them. “I’ll go into the fight with a maximum of 78-79 kg, Kozma will be 8-9 kg heavier in my opinion. I am much more technical and experienced, he is heavier. It’s 50-50,” he told Slovak Sport.

But Buchinger’s challenges do not end with his third title. In fact, he mentioned in the interview that he would like to go for the middleweight belt, where Karlos Vémola is. But his statement cannot be taken too seriously.

“I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but if I get the third belt, I definitely want to fight for the fourth. But only against Vémola, nobody else. If he really doesn’t fight anymore, I won’t go to middleweight,” he added.

If Buchinger wins a third title, he could certainly get an offer from the UFC again. And he said he wouldn’t turn it down, even though he’s no longer too attached to it.
