Oktagon 26 at Štvanica is already over, but during Ondrej Novotny’s emotional speech something happened that we would prefer not to see at tournaments. One of the spectators came twice to provoke Karlos Vemola, who was defended by the judges Ivo Rittig and Alex Cverna.
Octagon 26 was a truly unique tournament. A large number of people could come to it after a very long time and they certainly enjoyed the whole tournament.
However, during Ondrej Novotny’s emotional speech after Miloš Petrášek’s win, something happened that we would prefer not to see at similar events.
One of the spectators came up to Karlos Vémol and poked him in the chin. It would not have been so terrible and nobody took much notice of it.
However, the man in question returned a short time later and tried to provoke Vémolá. He was no longer able to do so, however, as Ivo Rittig and Alex Cverna took him on.
“I pushed him away. He turned around and came at me, but by then Rittig had caught him. And I wasn’t going to have that at all. I didn’t want Rittig to have any trouble with him, and there was also a pregnant Lela sitting there, and I couldn’t let them fall on her. So I took a shot at him, but by then he was being dragged out of there. “And yet, they did,” Cverna said in an interview with Kaocko.
Everything was eventually solved by the organizing service, which dragged the attacker away. Vémola is now injured, but if the man in question had hit him a second time, the attacker might not have fared well.
